Artist Bio:
Bradley Carter is an award-winning, internationally collected American artist who grew up pursuing his passion for art in Virginia before moving to Wilmington, North Carolina in 2007, where he currently resides with his wife Laura and their three children. He predominantly creates in the medium of acrylic painting with a focus on Abstract Expressionism, though his work also incorporates mixed media, paint skins, and resin. In 2002, Bradley received his BFA in Painting and Printmaking from Virginia Commonwealth University, but did not pursue a full-time career in art until 2013. His work is rooted in Abstract Expressionism with an emphasis on composition, movement, texture, and color theory. As an advocate for the arts and community engagement, Bradley has served as President of the Wilmington Art Association and has directed several local, regional, and national juried exhibitions and festival-style shows designed to increase awareness of the value of art within a community. Bradley maintains a consistent presence in solo and national juried exhibitions and has sold work to private and public collectors worldwide. His work is currently represented by Sunset River Gallery, Eclipse Gallery, and Citrine Gallery, while his original paint skin journals and sketchbooks are carried by the Franklin G. Burroughs-Simeon B. Chapin Art Museum in South Carolina. His artwork has been featured in local and international publications and has appeared in film and television productions including Scream 5, ABC’s Secrets and Lies, TNT’s Good Behavior, Starz’s Hightown, and Fox’s Our Kind of People. In addition to his visual art career, Bradley is the owner of ARTnNCevents, an artist and art festival management company, and the founder of the Carolina Art Show, Make A Difference, and Abstracts in America. He is also the author of the upcoming novel The Canvas We Share, a contemporary literary story centered on friendship, art, vulnerability, and the emotional lives of four former art-school friends reunited through a gallery exhibition. |
